Whirling dervish ceremony etiquette
Treat it as a prayer, because it is one. Arrive 20 to 30 minutes early, dress modestly, switch your phone to silent and keep it away, take no photos or video, stay quiet and seated throughout, and do not applaud at the end. Visitors of any faith are welcome.

Why it matters
At a working lodge the Sema is held as worship, and visitors are guests at it. The rules are the ones any place of prayer would ask for. They are also what makes the hour what it is: the silence is the thing guests remember.
